Connect. Learn. Grow: An Introduction to Outdoor Coaching
The Foundry isn’t your normal networking group and our June Connect. Learn. Grow is going outdoors!
This is not coffee and business cards. This is strategic conversations, honest leadership, and a community that changes how women grow and lead. Together.
This workshop is included for all Foundry members. We LOVE to welcome guests who can come along to two workshops PAYG before becoming a member.
Guest speaker: Jo Dawson from Mighty Atom Coaching

Jo is a leadership development consultant and positive psychology coach who works with leaders and people at life’s crossroads to explore their strengths and build resilience through adventure. Combining her love of the outdoors, her 20-year leadership experience as a British Army officer, and her MSc in Positive Psychology, she takes individuals and groups on outdoor coaching journeys, underpinned by her academic research.
Walking the 177-mile Offa’s Dyke national trail for charity when she left the Army gave her the time and space to process the huge challenge that changing careers can bring. She realised the power of going on an adventure: that walking in nature can help reconcile the chapters that have gone before, can support the transition during, and can bring clarity for the future. She now uses her MSc in Positive Psychology to help others at life’s crossroads to embrace adventure, to build their resilience and to navigate their own future paths.
Jo brings passion, energy and optimism, as well as a healthy dose of humour, in all she does. As a proud veteran she is an advocate for military spouses, and is a volunteer coach for Recruit for Spouses. She fully believes in the latin phrase ‘solvitur ambulando’, (it is solved by walking) or as she puts it – ‘everything is solved by walking’ and loves working with individuals and groups outdoors.
What she will cover:
The session will be centred around the value of walking coaching and connecting in nature. Being outdoors can bring us new perspectives and challenge us in different ways. It can help unlock thinking and bring us clarity. We will be walking and talking around Crickley Hill, so please be prepared with footwear and clothing.
